As I’ve used the app I’ve noticed when trying to not use any data, the app can act real weird. Thanks so much for the review, Campfly! We definitely have some improvements in mind for the EQ, stay tuned. This seems primitive compared to the rest of the app. The eq doesn’t have presets or allow saved settings or profiles meaning that I have to manually set the eq points each time I switch systems. As I listen across multiple systems, it is necessary to use eq to get consistent sound. Other reviews here have mentioned the lack of repeat functionality, but I want to point out the big need for improvements in the equalizer. However, there are a few features that don’t quite fit the high standard that the product sets in most ways. I settled on Plex and the Plexamp app as my choice and have found it to be great, far better than GPM was in terms of visual UI and sound quality. When it closed up shop last year, I spent a long time researching my options for a replacement. I was in love with Google Play Music for years and it was central to my daily life as a way to listen to my music collection across all my devices and on the go.

Don’t let corporations tell you how to consume music. Make no mistake, this is the future of music, not streaming. All the music I have purchased since high school, which I still have, is in my music library and continues to grow over time as I see fit. Personally, I still and always will prefer to OWN a copy of the music I want to listen to so I will still buy CDs (sometimes digital downloads as well with no DRM) so that I can listen to it whenever and however I chose.
